Presidents Report:
I want to start by wishing all those a Happy Mother’s Day from myself and the Local Lodge Executive Board.
As May starts we have many changes in the airline Industry. At SWA they have seen that the company has started cutting employees and will start charging for luggage and in the near future start charging for more leg room on their flights. At UAL they are still in negotiations but going very slow. There are rumors about doing something with JetBlue.
The Industry as a whole has started cutting back on domestic flts because of the economy.
The IAM are still trying to organize both the Delta and JetBlue Ramp workers. Please help where you can in these campaigns.
As we move on in the year, it is obvious that Labor is under Attack as more and more jobs are being cut.
Until next month,
STAY STRONG, STAY SAFE, STAY UNION
