Bob’s Rants

This page will change from time to time depending on what irks or delights me. Hopefully it will all be relevant to our present political, ideological, economic, or general welfare conditions. As always, your understanding is appreciated.

What’s going on at the International Headquarters? GVP Transportation, Sito Pantoja has been reassigned to some obscure position and Pantoja’s Chief of Staff has take-up residence at Dist. 142. International President Martinez has placed his Chief of Staff as the titular overseer of the Transportation Dept.

I have had the pleasure of working with Pantoja as we both served on the Grievance Committee for L.L. 949 years ago at TWA, and found him to be well informed and knowledgeable about the workings of organized labor, and especially the IAM. Sito and I also graduated together from the National Labor College with our BA’s in Labor Studies.
I also had the pleasure of working with Joe Tiberi, on several issues, and attending classes with him at Placid Harbor. I have no doubt the Joe will be an exceptional asset to Dist. 142 President Dave Supplee, and the entire Dist. 142 membership.

There are several rumors, and speculations as to what brought about this reorganization, one being a political faux pas. I truly hope this was not the case, as some anti-union antagonist are comparing it to Trumpism. Whatever, the cause, I hope that all the parties involved can see that this is not good for the union, and reestablish the democratic principles of this great organization.
