FLORIDA STATE COUNCIL OF MACHINISTS CONFERENCE

The FSCM were at the site capital of Tallahassee for its Legislative Conference from January 25 – 30, 2026. Registration was on Sunday and on Monday. Through out the conference we had many speakers and presentations from Fla. AFL -CIO President and others.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we started early at FLA. AFL -CIO Office for a briefing on bills being in Committee on that day and whether we opposed or were for that bill. Most delegates had appointments with their State Representatives on both days.
On Thursday we had closing remarks and Committee Reports. Money was raised for both the GL MNPL and the FSCM MNPL funds from both envelopes and raffles. I attended at no cost to our Local as I am VP area 1 for FSCM. Local 2508 in Orlando had 3 Members as delegates. We had 44 Delegates. The Capital celebrated Hillsboro Days with Cuban sandwiches given out off a Pirate Boat.

Below are a couple of pictures from that event.

Dear Local 2319 members ,

I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to attend the EAP training event. Being sent to this program was truly meaningful to me, both professionally and personally, and I appreciate the support in making it possible.

The training provided invaluable insight into how to effectively support others during times of need. The tools, knowledge, and perspectives I gained will have a lasting impact on how I approach helping colleagues and individuals facing challenging situations. It was incredibly rewarding to learn skills that extend well beyond the workplace.

The instructors were absolutely wonderful. Their expertise, compassion, and engaging approach made even the most sensitive topics approachable and easy to absorb. They created an environment where learning felt natural, supportive, and enjoyable.

The facilities made for an excellent learning experience. While the snow outside was undeniably beautiful, the temperature was… let’s say “character-building.”

Thank you again for investing in this opportunity. I am truly grateful for the experience and look forward to putting what I learned into practice to better support others moving forward.

Sincerely,
Teresa Self
